First few days in Portugal

We’ve arrived in Lisbon and have learned that Thrifty Car rental does not maintain a booth in the airport. Took an hour to find a guy walking around with a Thrifty sign.

Once we got our car we drove an hour north to Obidos where we checked into our pousada, which was a castle up on a hill inside a walled city.

On Monday we first visited Alcobaca to see an impressive monastery. Next we visited Batalha to see another monastery — both UNESCO world heritage sites.

Lastly we drove to the coast to see the beaches of Nazare and the overlooking town of Sitio before returning to our castle in Obidos for our last night as king and queen.

Got married this weekend

Jenny and I had a great time this weekend. Thank you to all of the friends and family members who made the trip to Indianapolis to see us get married and to help us celebrate. We will be sure to share photos and videos once we get them.

As for the honeymoon, we look forward to our trip to Portugal in a few days, followed by a Raleigh post-wedding party on the way home later this month.

This weekend was a lot of fun and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you all for coming.
