Gas Town

Vancouver has been great. It’s bigger and better than I expected. Surrounded by water, it’s towering mostly-glass apartment buildings give the city a real modern feel.

So far, we’ve explored may of the popular sites. On Saturday, we took a bus tour of the city, which gave us a good overview of the places we wanted to return to.

On Sunday, we explored Canada Place, which is a tent-like pier, where we saw a terrible Imax 3-D film. Afterward, we walked to Gas Town, a nice restaurant, bar, and shopping district. Following, we caught the last performance of a Cirque du Soleil show under the big tent. They are always great, and I hope to see the new show in New York/New York when I visit Las Vegas next month.

Monday, we visited their Aquarium. It was a pleasant surprise, for we didn’t expect it to be as nice as it really was. Packed with countless numbers of fish, and just as many kids, we killed several hours exploring this museum. That evening, my buddy Pat Haney and his girlfriend Sandy joined us for a nice dinner overlooking one of the city’s harbors.

Today, we depart Vancouver and head to Whistler. Our plan is to do some Kayaking, ziplines, ATV tours, and jet boating. Should be a lot of fun.
